The Himachal Pradesh Forest Academy, Sunder Nagar is dedicated to impart quality training to the forestry professional, since its inception as Forest Training Centre in 1993. The prime courses are the 18 month induction course to Range Forest Officers from different states of India, nominated through the Directorate of Forest Education Dehradun and 6 months induction course for Forest Guards from Himachal Pradesh Forest Department. Three Months Induction training for Dy. Rangers of HPFD are also being conducting. In addition 2-3 Days Short term courses and One Week Refresher Courses for Frontline staff and Ministerial staff of HPFD are also being conducting.
I would like to appreciate and sincerely commend the efforts of all faculty members and support staff of this Institute in building capacities of forestry personnel and wish them all the best in their noble training endeavors’.
Apart from the academic curriculum of vast exposure was provided through field tours including various parts of India, Sports and Games, Yoga classes, Adventure sports like snow skiing and Rock climbing and number of other extracurricular activities for grooming overall personality of young officer trainees as Field Officer to face a plethora of field situations.
