Our History

• 1949 : Lower Division Subordinate Training School, Junga.
• 1952 : School was shifted to Solan.
• 1956 : School shifted to Mashobra and Soil conservation school opened in Dalhousie.
• 1964 : both the schools were combined, and shifted to Solan.
• 1968 : The school was finally shifted to Chail.
• 1993 : Forestry Training Centre was opened at Sundernagar.
• 2006 : The Natural Resource Management & Training Development Society is established to look after the training and Management of FTI & RC, Sundernagar & FTI, Chail.
• 2008 : Both the Centers were renamed as Forest Training Institutes.
• 2012 : FTI Sudnernagar was empanelled by Govt. of India For imparting Range Forest officer training & renamed as FTI & Rangers' College, Sundernagar
• 2021 : Renamed as HPFA.
